- Lots of New Players: Since Overwatch 2 has gone free-to-play, there are many more players than ever before across all platforms. Thus, there is a good chance that the percentage of players at lower ranks will increase. This brings us to the second reason for changing the rank distribution.
- Bronze 5 placement bug: There is an infamous Bronze 5 placement bug in the game. In this bug, every time you rank up, you still get the same rank, i.e. Bronze 5. And although this may not affect for every player in the game. Many players have reported experiencing this issue.
Thus, even if the rank distribution remains the same for higher ranks. It’s safe to say that there can be a noticeable difference in the distribution for Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum players.
