Oppo Reno 8 series announced with 32MP IMX709 selfie camera and 80W fast charging: price, specifications
Today, Oppo introduced the Reno 8 series smartphones in China. The company introduced the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+, Reno 8 Pro and vanilla Reno 8. The Reno 8 series phones now have an improved design, improved charging speed and the same set of selfie cameras.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro is also the world’s first phone powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. The other two phones are powered by MediaTek Dimensity’s 5G series SoC. In addition, all three phones have AMOLED screens, up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. Let’s take a closer look at phones.
Oppo Reno 8 series: price
Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ starts at 3699 yuan, Reno 8 Pro starts at 2999 yuan and Reno 8 starts at 2499 yuan. The phones are already available for pre-order in China.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro+: Specifications
As for the camera, there is a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front is a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 selfie camera. The Reno 8 Pro+ is powered by a 4500mAh rechargeable battery supported by 80W Super Flash charging. The phone runs ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12. Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, a Type-C port, a thickness of 7.34mm and a weight of 183 grams.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro: Specifications
The Reno 8 Pro features a 6.62-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz, 2400×1080p resolution and a 92% screen-to-body ratio. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC clocked at up to 2.4GHz. It comes with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, and the camera setup, battery, and charging speed on the Reno 8 Pro are the same as the Reno 8 Pro+.
This device also comes with MariSilicon X chip. Other features include in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, Type-C port, 7.57mm thickness and 188g weight.
Oppo Reno 8: Specifications
The vanilla Oppo Reno 8 comes with a smaller 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and a 90Hz screen refresh rate. It has a peak brightness of 800 nits and the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The Reno 8 comes with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Under the hood, the phone runs MediaTek’s Dimensity 1300 SoC clocked at up to 3GHz.
In addition, the Reno 8 is equipped with a 50MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP B&W sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front is a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor for selfies. The phone is equipped with a 4500mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging like other phones.
This device also comes with MariSilicon X chip. Other features include in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, Type-C port, 7.67mm thickness and 179 grams weight.
