Sony has finally announced the next State of Play event, which will take place on Thursday this week, June 2nd. The event will feature nearly 30 minutes of announcements and updates from PlayStation’s own studios as well as third-party partners.

The stream will be available on the official PlayStation Youtube channel as well as on Twitch on June 2 at 3:30 AM IST.

In addition, the State of Play event will also feature a sneak peek at several upcoming titles for PlayStation VR2. The VR2 hardware was unveiled earlier this year with great fanfare, and several projects are reportedly already in development at several well-known studios.

One of the most exciting VR titles that could be in the works is Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare II VR component due out this October.

It’s not yet confirmed if heavy hits like God of War Ragnarok will appear in State of Play, but it could be on the cards. Santa Monica has apparently hinted that the game should be released in 2022, so it stands to reason that the game could get a release date announcement soon enough.

This game is one of the most high-profile releases from PlayStation Studios and will undoubtedly be a major breakthrough for PlayStation consoles. God of War Ragnarok was introduced with PS5 and was previously scheduled to release in 2021.

However, the game’s release was delayed for various reasons, including actor Christopher Judge (Kratos) being injured during development. It looks like the game is due out this year and fans are hoping to get more information this Friday.
