MediaTek Dimensity 8100, Dimensity 8000 5nm SoC and Dimensity 1300 6nm SoC Announced: Specifications, Future Featured Smartphones

Chipset maker MediaTek today announced three new mobile processors for its popular Dimensity series. The company introduced two new 8000 series chipsets: Dimensity 8000 and Dimensity 8100.

Alongside this duo, the brand also announced the Dimensity 1300, which is a mid-range chipset and successor to the Dimensity 1200 from 2021. Let’s take a closer look at the features and specifications of the new Dimensity processors.

Features MediaTek Dimensity 8000 and Dimensity 8100

The MediaTek Dimensity 8000 and Dimensity 8100 offer support for cameras up to 200MP and 4K at 60fps and HDR10+ video capture. It is also capable of recording HDR video with two cameras. In terms of networking, these SoCs are 5G ready and come with a 3GPP R16-enabled 5G modem to boost sub-6GHz performance with 2CC Carrier aggregation. Other features include NavIC support, UltraSave 2.0 Power Savings Improvement Pack, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The Dimensity 8100 and 8000 support refresh rates up to 120Hz at WQHD+ or 168Hz at Full HD+.

The company also announced the MediaTek Dimensity 1300, which is a mid-range SoC and successor to the Dimensity 1200. This chipset is built on a 6nm process and is also an octa-core chip with a single ultra-core Arm Cortex-A78 processor clocked. up to 3GHz, three Arm Cortex-A78 super-cores and four efficient Arm Cortex-A55 cores, as well as a 9-core Arm Mali-G77 GPU and MediaTek APU 3.0 to support AI capabilities.

Dimensity 8100, Dimensity 8000 and Dimensity 1300 based smartphones will be available in the market in the first quarter of 2022, ushering in a new era of incredible 5G devices from some of the world’s biggest smartphone brands.
