Pitaka Flipbook iPad Case Review: A Unique Labor-Saving Accessory

What you need to know about the Pitaka Flipbook case:

  • The Pitaka Flipbook Case works with 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPads connected to the Magic Keyboard.
  • Constructed from leather and carbon fiber, it has the feel of a super sports car.
  • The Flipbook business is about saving time compared to everything else.

Many consider the iPad the best tablet, and I share this opinion too. Especially when you can use it to replace your personal computer with the Apple Magic Keyboard. But carrying this duet with you is not always convenient. And that’s where the Pitaka Flipbook case comes in.

The Pitaka Flipbook case allows users to carry their iPad conveniently. However, the iPad must be connected to the Magic Keyboard. I have my hands on it. Read on to find out what I think of its design, build quality, protection, and overall utility.

Minimalistic design

Product design is the first thing that grabs the attention of consumers. Most of the case is made of leather, and there is also carbon fiber in the pocket area. And Pitaka has certainly created a product with a polarizing design.

Both handles have magnets that stick together as soon as you bring them closer. The buckle that fastens the strap and the case is made of metal. And the color of the buckle is black metallic, which subtly harmonizes with the aesthetics of the case. The zipper slider and tongue also have a similar finish.

Above the zipper is an orange leather strap, and below the zipper is the aforementioned carbon fiber trim. Pitaka designed it to create a super sports car vibe and it certainly reminds me of McLaren cars.

Now the bag really offers a decent place to live. You can store your iPhone, AirPods, or Lightning cable in it. But don’t expect it to replace your bag. The camera protector can be flipped over to open and attaches to the body as it has magnets.

The two parts of the body are held together by two parallel plastic straps. These plastic straps have another perpendicular plastic strap with adhesive that sticks to the Magic Keyboard and holds the case together. The same adhesive pad is on the inside of the case.

Minimum protection

The minimalist case design is both a blessing and a curse. If you’re expecting a Pitaka Flipbook case to provide drop protection, don’t. It is said that the cover serves as a replacement for sleeves and pouches, but does not have similar protection. Convenience has its price.

But that’s a sacrifice you’ll have to make as product design tries to keep the Magic Keyboard’s bulk to a minimum. However, I would like the case to provide additional protection. So, what does the Flipbook case offer besides speeding up the process of carrying an iPad connected to the Magic Keyboard?

What is the purpose of the Flipbook case?

The purpose of the Flipbook Case is to make it easier to carry your iPad attached to the Magic Keyboard. In addition, you can carry a couple more items in his bag. And it’s all. From my point of view, the product was designed for one purpose, i.e. to save time, and it does it right.

However, you cannot carry an iPad alone with a case. Attaching the iPad to the Magic Keyboard is required to carry it. Whenever you want to use your iPad, just lay it on the table and the straps won’t get in the way while you use it.

Is the Pitaka Flipbook case worth the money?

The price of money

The Pitaka Flipbook Case is designed and manufactured for a niche audience that values time above all else.

But how much time will you save? And is it worth it to save a few seconds and add bulk (albeit minimal, but a bit more) to your iPad and Magic Keyboard, especially when the added bulk doesn’t provide adequate protection for the iPad?

If your answer is “yes”, the Pitaka Flipbook case is the perfect value for money product for you. It is also unique and will help you stand out from the crowd. However, I personally do not like this product, and for many, it may not be a worthwhile investment.
