Octopath Traveler 2: how to save game progress
Octopath Traveler II is an RPG from Square Enix and Acquire that follows eight separate characters. Although it will take a long time to complete the game, exploring the world of Solistia can take even longer. For these reasons, some players wonder if they can manually save their game. While OT 2 has an autosave feature, it’s understandable if players want to make sure and save their game data manually. So, check out our guide to saving in Octopath Traveler 2.

You can save your progress in Octopath Traveler 2 by interacting with save points around cities and areas of the world. Savepoints are usually pillars with an open book on top. You will also see a pen icon above the book. You need to approach these pillars and examine them in order to save your progress in the game. When you view these savepoints while playing, you must confirm that the file will be overwritten.
You can also find save points near the dungeons before the boss encounter in OT 2. But if you couldn’t find these save points, we recommend checking the minimap. You’ll find various feather icons around the area, representing save points. You can walk or travel to these save points to save your progress. In addition to manually saving the game, you can also use autosave. This feature saves your game as you move between cities and other major areas.
So the chance of you losing your progress is relatively small (but not zero). In addition, various save slots are available. You can overwrite an existing or new slot to save your game. There are a total of eight save slots for overwriting saved data.
