Obviously, you can only start playing with the Quest 2 and what’s in the box, but the headset has been conceived and designed for customization.

You can change the head band, add a battery, change controllers. And third-party manufacturers have extensive catalogs. Here’s a guide to basic, optional, and completely unnecessary accessories.

Cleaning kit

Like any electronic device, a helmet must be kept clean. According to the help page, “Use a dry microfiber cloth to clean your lenses. Do not use liquid or chemical products.”Any microfiber cloth, a special Oculus kit, or even a camera cleaning kit will do.

Sweat protection

VR games often make you move. If you’re used to borrowing your gear, it’s best to buy what you need to limit sweating. The Quest 2 has a silicone coating to keep it from becoming a sweat sponge. You can buy a second or even a third to spin them.
