OnePlus 10 Pro fails bend test and breaks in half

The OnePlus 10 Pro was launched earlier this year in China. The company’s top-of-the-line flagship has received mixed reactions due to its cooker-like camera module design. The OnePlus 10 Pro is currently exclusive to China and will launch globally later this year. There is no official announcement from OnePlus about launching its flagship outside of China.

Before the company unveils its flagship smartphone outside of China, a bunch of creators got their hands on the 10 Pro. One such creator is YouTuber Zack, also known as JerryRigEverything, who did a bend test on OnePlus’ flagship smartphone.

OnePlus 10 Pro bending test

The OnePlus 10 Pro has a premium frosted glass body with a metal frame. Despite the premium build, the phone broke in half in a bend test. The video shows that the flagship smartphone OnePlus endures the torture of multiple scratches and burns, made in the style of JerryRIgEverything.

However, it was the popular bending test that completely destroyed the phone. Despite a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the display and a frosted glass back, the 10 Pro bent in half after the YouTuber pressed the back a little. The kink point, as seen in the video, is where the camera module meets the 10 Pro’s aluminum frame.

It doesn’t stop here. When the YouTuber applied pressure from the other side, the device clicked further and completely stopped working. Although the pressure test is quite extreme, it may not be as severe in everyday life unless you keep your phone in your back pocket and sit on it.

One variant of the smartphone is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and a 5,000mAh battery. It will support 80W fast wired charging. There is a triple camera on the back of the phone with a 48 MP main camera. There is a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto lens. For selfies, there is a 32MP front camera sensor.

On the front is a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is curved on the sides and, as mentioned, has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top. We will share details regarding the device launch information in India as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, let us know what you think of the OnePlus 10 Pro folding in half.
