OnePlus Ace Racing Edition could launch on May 17th in China: everything we know so far

The OnePlus Ace was unveiled last month as the first model in the brand new Ace series. It was later reported that the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition would hit the market soon. OnePlus recently officially scheduled a new event in the company’s hometown of China, where the brand will unveil the new Ace series smartphone.

Given that the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition was recently spotted in the wild, it’s safe to assume that OnePlus will unveil a new special edition smartphone during its next event in China on May 17, 2022. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming OnePlus event and everything we know so far.

OnePlus event scheduled for May 17th

The launch invitation provided by OnePlus shows that the event will take place on May 17 at 7 pm China time. The invitation also mentions Ace, the company’s new line of smartphones. OnePlus is said to be unveiling “Full Blood New Products”at the event, belonging to the Ace series.

Although the teaser does not reveal the name of the device or its specifications, we assume that this is the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition. Previous reports indicate that the Ace Racing Edition includes a square-shaped camera module on the back that resembles the design of the OnePlus 10 Pro.

The phone is likely to feature a 64MP rear camera sensor, an additional 8MP sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front of the phone will be a 16-megapixel front camera. The Racing Edition is rumored to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC.

Other features of the smartphone include a 6.59-inch Full HD+ LTPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels. The TENAA listing showed two RAM options – 8GB and 12GB with two storage options: 128GB and 256GB. The phone has a model number of PGZ110 and has a nominal battery capacity of 4890 mAh.
