OnePlus Ivan could launch as OnePlus Nord 2 CE: Dimensity 900 SoC, AMOLED display, other specs leaked

OnePlus earlier this year launched the OnePlus Nord Core Edition, a down-tinted version of last year’s OnePlus Nord. Right now, the company seems to be working on the next iteration of its flagship phone, the OnePlus Nord 2 CE. A phone with model number IV2201 and codename Ivan was recently spotted on the BIS certification site. Along with this development, 91mobiles, together with consultant Yogesh Brar, revealed the key features, release dates and price range of the upcoming Nord series phones. Let’s look at the details

The upcoming OnePlus phone is expected to launch in early 2022, and according to the report, there is a high chance that the company will launch it by the end of January or mid-February.

OnePlus Nord 2 CE specs and price range leaked

The upcoming OnePlus mid-range phone will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that will refresh 90 times per second. We can expect the display panel to feature FHD+ resolution, an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, and a hole-punch cutout. The phone may be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor. For those who don’t know, the OnePlus Nord 2 was the company’s first phone with a MediaTek processor. In fact, this is the only OnePlus phone with a MediaTek processor so far.

The MediaTek processor on the mobile phone will be paired with 6GB to 12GB of RAM, according to the report. We can expect to see the Nord 2 CE with 6GB, 8GB and 12GB memory configurations similar to the current generation Nord Core Edition. The report also states that the device could have 128GB or 256GB of storage. It is said to be downloading a proprietary OxygenOS skin with Android 12 as a base.

OnePlus is said to be using a 64MP OmniVision sensor in the new Nord phone. It can be accompanied by an 8MP super wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, the device is said to have a 16 MP sensor. The Nord 2 CE may offer a 4,500mAh battery with 65W Warp Charge 65 fast charging. The inclusion of 65W fast charging is a big change considering the OnePlus Nord 2 is the only Nord series phone with Warp Charge 65.

The Nord 2 CE will not offer an alert slider similar to the OnePlus Nord CE. It will be equipped with a 3.5 mm audio jack and stereo speakers. The frame of the phone is believed to be made of plastic, while the glass back and screen will be covered with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top. It is said to be a price between rupees.
