OnePlus is interrupting the rollout of OxygenOS 12 for its OnePlus 9. There are too many bugs according to users.
A few days ago, we informed you that OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12 to its OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro smartphones. If you haven’t updated your device yet and don’t see the said update today, keep in mind that this is completely normal. The manufacturer actually decided to remove this version from their servers.

In any case, this is reported by numerous user reports published in particular on Twitter, Reddit and the OnePlus forums. According to users, there are too many errors, which makes it difficult to use devices. And these bugs affect some of the most basic features like making and receiving calls, autocomplete, being unable to change icons, customize the status bar, and more.

According to a statement from OnePlus acknowledging these issues, “We are aware of these issues caused by the OxygenOS 12 update and our software development team is in the process of fixing them. We will pause the rollout of this software update and release the new version as soon as possible.” At this stage, it is difficult to know when this version can be offered to the general public, but until then we will have to wait.
If by chance you’ve already updated your OnePlus 9 or 9 Pro to OxygenOS 12 and you’re wondering what to do, don’t panic. Indeed, OnePlus has posted a guide on their forums detailing the procedure to go back to a previous version of OxygenOS with fewer bugs. An option that might be of interest if the bugs introduced by this new major version are turned off too daily. I hope OnePlus responds quickly.
