History of the haunted house at Disney
The Haunted Mansion opened at California Disneyland in 1969, years after it was originally designed by Walt Disney as a walking attraction. It then evolved into a carousel that takes visitors through a Louisiana home filled with the supernatural. Later releases in other parks deviated slightly from theme and location, with the Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland releases featuring more show scenes, longer drive times, and a gothic aesthetic, while the Disneyland Paris version is about a ruined American house. border.
