Overwatch 2 stuck in queue – how to get around the long queue?
Overwatch 2 players are stuck in a queue and are facing long queues to join the game. This can be annoying, especially if it doesn’t move despite checking the queue multiple times. If you’re wondering how to bypass the queue in Overwatch 2, here’s what you need to know.
Stuck in a queue – can you bypass the queue in Overwatch 2?
In Overwatch 2, there is no option to skip the queue. You have to wait, but in my experience the wait is getting shorter and shorter as the developers work on server issues. However, if you’re playing on PC, you can change the region of the server you’re playing on to see if you can join the game through that server. This can reduce the number of players in front of you.
How to Change the Overwatch 2 Server Region
- Open the Battle.net client and click on the globe icon next to Overwatch 2 in the lower left corner of the screen.
- If you are playing on an Asian server, you can switch to Europe or America. But be aware that this may affect your latency.
- After you have changed your server region, click PLAY.
On launch day, I saw a queue of 300 players in front of me, which after a while was reduced to 20 players when I logged into the system. Queue time also depends on the peak time of players in certain regions. For example, an Asian server will be busier because its regions are in the daytime, while North American servers will have fewer visitors during those hours.
What’s more, OW2 was the target of several DDoS attacks on the day of its launch, so you may have seen an exceptionally long queue. As explained by Cloudflare, DDoS attacks are an attempt to disrupt normal server traffic by overloading it with a stream of Internet traffic.
Every online game has problems launching, and OW2 is no exception. Due to server issues, players have experienced login errors, disconnection issues, etc. These will be ironed out when the game clears the hurdles on launch day. Overwatch used to be a paid game, but now OW2 is free to play. This way, most of the new audience will play the game, resulting in long queues. But since the server issues will be resolved, you won’t have to wait long.
That’s it for long queues in Overwatch 2.
