Paramount+ and Showtime to merge to become Paramount+ with Showtime
Paramount Global is merging its streaming and cable TV businesses by bringing together Showtime TV and the Paramount+ platform.
The change in business strategy comes as parent company Paramount Global seeks to gain a foothold in streaming to compete with the likes of Netflix, Disney and Warner Bros. discovery. Updated offerings and name change to Paramount+ along with Showtime will be unveiled later this year. For reference, Paramount+ is $4.99/month and Showtime is $10.99/month. A two-service package already exists for $11.99 per month.

This change will also strengthen the alignment of our national and international Paramount+ offerings, as Paramount+ already consists of Showtime content internationally. And, what is very important,

Earlier this week, the channel revealed the list of the first three shows to be cancelled, namely Let the Right One In, American Gigolo and Three Women. The latter is also sold to other distributors/broadcasters.
