PayPal for iPhone adds support for Apple Tap to Pay
PayPal also says that customers will soon be able to add their PayPal and Venmo credit and debit cards to Apple Wallet to use them wherever Apple Pay is accepted.

When will PayPal support Tap to Pay on iPhone?
An official announcement posted on November 4, 2022 as part of the company’s Q3 2022 earnings report confirms that Tap to Pay support will be coming “soon”to PayPal for iPhone [ App Store link ] and Venmo apps [ App link Store ].
This feature will allow US merchants to accept contactless credit/debit cards through the Apple Pay Tap to Pay feature on iPhone. The seller will use PayPal or Venmo on their iPhone to charge the buyer when presenting their iPhone XS or later to the buyer.
Tap to Pay turns an iPhone into a contactless payment terminal, which means the customer can pay by tapping their contactless credit or debit card on the iPhone.
This function does not require any additional hardware.
Apple introduced Tap to Pay in January 2022. Apple first implemented Tap to Pay for its retail stores. Since then, other companies have adopted Tap to Pay such as Stripe, Adyen, Square, and more.
Tap to Pay requires an iPhone XS or later.
PayPal and Venmo to launch support for Apple Pay in 2023
The payments giant will also introduce other improvements to make its platforms work better with Apple Pay. Beginning in 2023, US customers will be able to add their PayPal or Venmo credit or debit card to the Wallet app on iPhone and use it for contactless payments with Apple Pay.
On top of that, Apple Pay will become an option in non-branded PayPal payment processes such as the PayPal Commerce Platform.
