Pebble Feel wants you to be hot and cold in virtual reality.
Pebble Feel is an accessory that will help you feel the temperature in virtual reality. What to push further dive.
Virtual Reality (VR) is supposed to offer an immersive experience by immersing the user in a virtual world through the use of a helmet. That being said, the experience cannot be complete if the only component that changes is the visual component. In order to fully give the impression that you are somewhere in another world, you must be able to fully experience this other world, all senses must be involved.
Pebble Feel is an accessory that will help you feel the temperature in virtual reality.
Shiftall, a company specializing in VR wearable accessories, has just unveiled a very interesting device called the Pebble Feel, which the manufacturer says allows users to feel hot and cold while they are in the process of VR simulation. The idea is actually quite simple. The accessory has a plate built into the harness. This plate can heat up or cool down, allowing users to feel temperature changes during VR sessions.
According to the description provided by the manufacturer, “Pebble Feel is a virtual reality experience that allows you to go to such and such a place and feel warm (or cold) simply by personalizing the world of your metaverse, such as VRChat or NeosVR. This is a physical device. The temperature can be controlled between 9°C and 42°C at an ambient temperature of 25°C, and when you create your virtual reality world, you just need to integrate the temperature information according to the virtual locations.”
What motivates you to dive further
It’s a pretty innovative idea anyway, but we’ll have to wait to see how it works and to what extent such a system actually adds immersion. But the concept is still very interesting. The device itself could also be suitable when you need to cool down in summer, and in winter, on the contrary, you need a little heat.
At the moment, the manufacturer has not announced an availability date or price. To be continued!
