Phasmophobia: the best cover on all maps
Phasmophobia by Kinetic Games is a multiplayer survival horror detective game. In the game, players sneak around a haunted area with various equipment to detect the paranormal while trying to identify the esoteric entities that reside within. However, even ghost hunters have to run and hide when evil spirits are after them. In addition to new maps, a ghost, and a new game mode, the recent Nightmare update saw a ton of map overhauls fixing the daring door hideouts players were using. This was done in order to make the game more intense so that more players would try to search the house for supposed hiding places during the chase. In this guide, we have listed all of the best Phasmophobia hideouts at the moment so you can be prepared.
All the best hideouts on every Phasmophobia map
If you’ve played Phasmophobia for a while, you may have come across players hiding in buggy closets behind doors, or even done it yourself at some point. Now the latest update seems to be addressing that playstyle as it lowers any stakes or fear factor when it comes to escaping the supernatural. However, the developers have added some new hideouts that players need to sneak into to make the game more interesting.
It is important to remember when heading to these places that they are not always completely safe. You must be careful to turn off any equipment, such as lights, before you go to a location in case you are being followed. This is because any disturbing equipment the ghosts can spot will reveal your location to them.
House on Willow Street
- Garage: One of the best places here is behind the tool rack next to the washing machines. Another great place is hidden behind the colorful boxes on board the pickup truck.
- Basement: The safest place here is to go far into the basement until you find two trash cans that can completely cover you.
- Bedroom: This is the room at the far end with a pair of sneakers on the floor. You need to hide behind the closet next to the big chair.
Edgefield Street House
- Dining Room: Here you need to sneak around the dining table in the area next to the window pane.
- Basement: The only places here are two open lockers. You have to be careful around this place as ghosts can open the lockers if they see you entering one of them.
- Upstairs: This is an important location as most of the time the haunted room is one of the many rooms on the top floor and you can be hunted down when you enter it. You need to find an empty closet in the corridor to different rooms and hide in it.
Ridgeview Road House Best Hideouts
- Kitchen: Head to the sliding door to the balcony and right in front of it you will find an effective hideout next to the fridge.
- Living Room: This hideout is in the right corner of the living room, hidden behind colorful boxes and window curtains.
- Garage: There are several hiding places in the garage, mostly four empty lockers.
- Hallway: More specifically, the hallway right outside the garage door where you can find the piano. You can hide in the corner next to the curtains behind the piano.
Grafton Farm
- Electrical panel room: You can hide behind drawers or behind an open door.
- Laundry: Here you can sneak out the open door or into the corner next to the washing machine.
- Storage Room: This small room is an extension of the main bedroom. As soon as you enter, you will find a stack of boxes containing a toy rabbit. These crates provide good cover when you need to get away from hunting.
- Upstairs: This location is in the hallway on the top floor. You can hide behind the brown chair by the window for good cover. This is potentially the best cover on this map in Phasmophobia, as the ghost rarely roams the corridors.
Blythesdale Farm
- Garage: When you enter the garage area, you will see two empty lockers that you can hide in. If these lockers are blocked due to the RNG, you can also tuck them into the corner next to the lockers and near the curtains.
- Foyer: This hidden area is located directly below the stairs to the top floor. You will see a stack of boxes next to a large tall clock under the stairwell in the lobby. All you have to do is sneak around the crates for the clock and you’ll be safe.
- Attic: On the topmost floor of this map, there are several hideouts. The best one is behind a set of wooden divider panels to the right of the stairs. You can also hide behind the big gray trash can in the corner.
Tanglewood Street House Best Places to Hide
- Corridor: this is a standard closet where it hides right in the corridor between two rooms. You can notice this as soon as you first enter the house.
- Basement: This is the location of the door glitch that was not fixed in the new update. You can pass through walls by squeezing between the open basement door and the walls and avoid being attacked by the ghost. However, be careful as this may be fixed in future updates.
- Nursery: This is the last of the many rooms you can find in the left corridor upon entering. You can hide in the corner next to the bed.
Jail
- Waiting area: This is the first area after entering. There is a double locker that you can use to hide.
- Cafeteria: You will find a set of 4 trash cans that form a closet behind them where you can hide. However, the cafeteria is a very large area, so you should be careful.
- Infirmary: You can find this room up the stairs and then into the rooms on your right. You’ll find a double locker hidden behind a large blue curtain that helps obstruct direct view, making it the perfect Phasmophobia hideout for a chase.
Brownstone High School
- Library: This is the first room to the right of the lobby. You hide behind bookshelves in the far corner of the room. The other bookshelves also provide good line-of-sight obstruction during a chase.
- Classroom: Hideouts in classrooms can be tricky. There are only a few classrooms on the map that you can hide in a safe place, such as behind card file cabinets or shelves in the corner. Basically you can use them to get out of line of sight with higher tables during a chase.
- Bathrooms: These are basically your best bet when it comes to hiding at Brownstone High School. Toilet stalls offer a safe haven if a ghost is nearby. In total, there are 4 bathrooms on each floor, 2 on each side of the corridor.
Camping Maple Lodge Best Hiding Places
- Small Tents: In the new update, you can now open small tents to use as cover. These are potentially the best hiding places, as ghosts usually don’t open them unless they see you entering them. However, they can be tricky to open, so be sure to open them all while exploring.
- Storage Tent: These are tents with tables and storage boxes. You can hide behind the table so that the ghosts can’t see you.
- The Hut: This hideout is sometimes random, but you can find a set of refrigerators on the outside porch of the Hut in the northern part of the map. You can hide behind the cooler drawers and hope the ghosts don’t see you coming back in.
These are the best cover on all maps in Phasmophobia. Remember that in order to hide from a haunting ghost, you need not so much to hide as to avoid line of sight, and also joke or run away from a nearby ghost.
