Penguin: Cristin Milioti to play Sofia Falcone
American comedian Christine Milioti will join Colin Farrell in the cast of the Batman spin-off Penguin.
Sofia Falcone, the daughter of a Gotham City mob boss, will be played by Cristin Milioti (Black Mirror, Modern Love, The Resort). Already in the shoes of Carmine Falcone in the movie, John Turturro will resume his role in Penguin. The female character was originally introduced in Batman comics in the mid-1990s, Christine Milioti would become the second actress to play Sofia in a live-action production, with Crystal Reed playing her in the Fox series Gotham.

The exact plot details of the series, which is currently called Penguin, are not yet known. However, it should take place immediately after the events of Batman. Colin Farrell will take on the role of Penguin, who will become the new boss of the local underworld. Lauren LeFrank is the writer, executive producer and showrunner of The Penguin, with director Matt Reeves overseeing the project through 6th & Idaho with Dylan Clark Production. Please note that Craig Zobel is in charge of the executive production and distribution of the first two episodes.
Spin-offs for Batman
Penguin is one of three Batman spin-offs currently in development on HBO Max. One of them, written by Antonio Campos, is for the series set in Arkham Asylum, and the other is for the Gotham City Police Department.
