Sony is revealing some details about its PSVR 2. There will be no less than 20 major games when this new VR headset is released.
In addition to ramping up the production of its PlayStation 5 as much as possible, Sony is gearing up to bring another next-generation product to the market: a new virtual reality headset. There is no release date for the Sony PlayStation VR2 (PSVR 2) yet, but the Japanese giant has big plans for this accessory. During a meeting with investors, the company revealed that at least 20 “core”games would be available at PSVR 2’s launch.

And among them, you will need to rely on both your own games and games from third-party studios. The company didn’t go into details, but we did get to see artwork for Horizon: Call of the Mountain. This is a VR add-on product for Horizon games, but the availability of this part has yet to be confirmed at PSVR 2 launch.
It’s also hard to tell if any of the games on this list will be updated or improved versions of existing games (like No Man’s Sky or Tetris Effect) or simple ports of other VR platforms. Either way, we hope Sony can bring Half-Life: Alyx to SteamVR.

According to information from Schell Games, one of the third-party games that will be present at PSVR 2’s launch anyway is Among US VR. Other games coming to the platform include Firmament from developer Myst, Cyan Worlds, several games from nDreams that we owe to Fracked, and one game from Coatsink, the development team behind Jurassic World.
Sony unveiled the design of this PSVR 2 last February. The headset will feature the new VR2 Sense controllers and will feature a screen resolution of 2000 x 2040 pixels per eye, a 110° field of view, a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, and support for 4K HDR support. The price of this accessory, meanwhile, has not yet been announced.
