iPadOS 16 is rumored to release in October, while iOS 16 is still set for September.

The rumor mill continues to grow, especially as the fall season approaches and, ultimately, new products from Apple. The company itself usually tries to stick to an annual routine when it comes to new launches, but sometimes it has to make some adjustments. And there appears to be a slight change in action this year when it comes to the iPadOS 16 release window.

Apple is set to delay the public launch of iPadOS 16 until October, according to a Bloomberg report. This will mean a delay of about a month, depending on when it finally launches. Apple usually releases new software at the end of September, but sometimes it needs to add a little more time to work out finer details and kinks.

For those more interested in iOS 16, the report indicates that Apple is going to stick with the release date for this software update at the end of September. So there is no change. For now, anyway.

As for the reason why iPadOS 16 is getting a slight delay? Stage Manager, a new multitasking feature that is the main element of the new software. The report indicates that Apple is going to use additional time to improve this feature, however, nothing is said about what exactly is changing. Perhaps Apple is making major changes to Stage Manager ahead of the rescheduled release window, or perhaps these are just minor elements that need to be ironed out.

It’s already August, which means we’re ultimately left with a bit of a wait before Apple makes it all official. So, while it looks like we’re going to be waiting a little longer for iPadOS 16, things may change and Apple continues to revamp the launch. We just have to wait and see how things turn out.
