PlayStation Plus subscribers unhappy with free games this month

December’s PlayStation Plus free games were officially announced earlier this week, and PS5 fans didn’t seem to be very pleased. PS5 users will get Godfall for free this month, but it looks like not the whole game.

Specifically, this month’s PlayStation Plus lineup includes Godfall: Challenger Edition for PS5 and will feature three modes: Lightbringer, Dreamstones, and Ascepted Tower of Trials. While that sounds pretty cool on its own, since these modes have all the content for the endgame, the Challenger Edition won’t have access to either Godfall or the Fire & Darkness campaign. Basically, PlayStation 5 players who want to play through the entire game will have to upgrade to the game’s Deluxe Editon, which doesn’t sound ideal.

PlayStation Plus subscribers disappointed with PS5 offer this month

While Godfall: Challenger Edition isn’t exactly a mediocre offering at first glance, the fact that players aren’t getting the full game should be a disappointment. Typically, PlayStation Plus offers each month include full games, not just specific expansions of titles included in the lineup.

Naturally, PlayStation fans were unhappy with this and took to Twitter, Reddit, and other forums to express their frustration with this month’s games. As one of the first PS5 titles, Godfall is a great candidate for the PlayStation Plus title, simply because it’s not quite the runaway success it was hoping for.

Some games have been given new life with the PlayStation Plus free games offer, as it brings a lot of new players to the game. With Godfall’s “looter-slasher”model, a “live”service model, it was available for free for a period of time, which could do wonders for the game. That’s why it’s incredibly frustrating that players have to pay to experience the full game.
