Nothing Phone (1) Confirmed Made in India Ahead of July 12 Global Launch

The worldwide debut of Nothing Phone (1) is scheduled for July 12th. The company has confirmed that Phone (1) will be launched in India along with global markets. It will be available for purchase exclusively through Flipkart shortly after launch. Ahead of the official launch, Nothing has also confirmed some of the key features of the Nothing Phone (1). The latest teaser is dedicated not to the specifications, but to the production of the phone.

Nothing Phone (1) will be produced in India

Nothing will manufacture Nothing Phone (1) in India. The company’s first smartphone will be manufactured in Tamil Nadu and sold through Flipkart. The head of the company in India, Manu Sharma, confirmed this information to the Economic Times (ET). However, Sharma did not reveal any details about the supply chain partner. We can expect more details around the coming days.

Local production should help Nothing keep its cost low, which could result in a lower starting price compared to global markets. Shortly after launch on July 12, the first Nothing smartphone will be available for purchase through Flipkart.

The company has also confirmed some other details of the phone. It will have a transparent back panel. The aluminum middle frame of the device will be made from recycled materials. Nothing has also confirmed that the phone will support wireless charging.

The phone will be powered by Snapdragon chipset. It will run Android 12 out of the box, with a Nothing OS layer on top of it.

Nothing has revealed the details of the processor yet. However, there are rumors that the smartphone will feature either Snapdragon 778G SoC or Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. The phone is rumored to support 45W fast charging for a 4500mAh battery. The front of the device is said to have a 6.55-inch Full HD+ display with support for a 90Hz refresh rate. The AMOLED display will have a notch in the center at the top.

Finally, according to rumors, the Nothing smartphone will be released with a triple camera. It will have a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor.
