How to Receive Apple TV iCloud Suggestions Online

In January 2023, Google employee Chris Koch posted a tweet stating that he could not accept the new iCloud terms on his Apple TV because he did not have an additional Apple device. This change is part of the tvOS 16 update for Apple TV. Instead of displaying the new terms on your TV, Apple now requires people to use an iPhone or iPad running iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 to accept an invite.

I have an Apple TV.

I don’t have any other Apple device. Not alone.

Every time I start my Apple TV I get this prompt. @Apple what do you want me to do about it? pic.twitter.com/CsNaTNNIHp

Apple Support initially told Koch that signing out of his iCloud account (tvOS Settings → Users & Accounts → [Name] → iCloud) and then signing back in would resolve the issue, which they did. The engineer clarified that when you sign in to iCloud.com from your web browser, you are not prompted to approve the updated iCloud terms.

At the very least, Apple could place a QR code on the screen to access the terms and conditions through any phone.

MacRumors found a support document on Apple’s website titled “If You Can’t Accept the iCloud Terms and Conditions for Apple TV”that provides the necessary steps for Apple TV owners who don’t have an additional Apple device such as an iPhone. or ipad.

  1. Using a computer, visit iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID account.
  2. Follow any instructions to review and update your account settings.
  3. Read and accept the iCloud terms of use.

Curiously, Apple has removed the document from their website, so it’s not clear what’s going on. We will update this article if new information becomes available.

There are other ways to solve this problem. For example, you can download the Apple Music app on Android and accept the modified Apple TV terms through it. You can also use the iTunes Store on Windows to approve any such requests.
