The Apple Fitness app no longer requires an Apple Watch. With iOS 16, your iPhone alone will be enough.
Apple, like other tech giants, including Google, is very active in the field of healthcare, and more specifically sports. It must be said that his Apple Watch is an accessory that fits him perfectly, especially since the connected watch is loaded with sensors and other special features. Thus, the introduction of Apple Fitness in this product made sense. Today, the Cupertino-based company is going further and expanding its capabilities.

Apple Fitness, Form in French, is an application designed to monitor your health and, if possible, your daily health. This is directly related to Apple’s Fitness+ service, which allows you to stay in shape with programmed exercises in a wide variety of sports. A very interesting service, very complete, highly customizable, but requires an Apple Watch.
From now on, you no longer need an Apple Watch to take advantage of the Fitness app. Indeed, with iOS 16, Apple is bringing the app to the iPhone. This is one of many announcements made by the Cupertino-based company during WWDC 2022. Like the watchOS version, the app will let you set daily activity goals with an “activity ring”that encourages you to stay active throughout the day.

Your iPhone will use its own sensors to track your steps and quantify your workouts, then convert that information into an estimate of your calories burned. At any time, you can also share your ring with family or friends to encourage them to also achieve their goals in daily activities.
Before you can evaluate the accuracy of the data collected by the iPhone compared to the data from the Apple Watch, it’s good that the app can only work with an Apple-branded smartphone anyway.
