Ghost of Tsushima: Takashi Dosher to write screenplay
Director Chad Stahelski has teamed up with screenwriter Takashi Dosher for Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima.
The still-in-development adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima will be directed by Chad Stahelski (“John Wick”, “Captain America”, “Birds of Prey”) and written by Takashi Dosher (“Only, yet, the sky is falling”). Peter Kang is curating the project for American studio Sucker Punch Productions. Chad Stahelski, Alex Young and Jason Spitz (87Eleven Entertainment), and Carter Swan and Asad Kyzylbash (PlayStation Productions) – producers of a feature film about the samurai Jin Sakai, the last surviving member of his clan who must abandon tradition, shaped him as a warrior for waging an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima.
Sony PlayStation Productions empire begins to take shape
Ghost of Tsushima is the second film from the partnership between Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions, following Uncharted earlier this year, which grossed over $383 million worldwide and immediately spawned a new film franchise. Finally, Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions are also developing The Last of Us for HBO, written and executive produced by Craig Mazin, and an action comedy Twisted Metal based on an original idea by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick for Pavlin.
