iPhone 11 production may be discontinued after iPhone 14 launch in September
Apple is expected to release the iPhone 14 series this September. The company will apparently introduce four phones in the series – iPhone 14, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. With the release of new iPhone devices, it looks like the Cupertino-based tech giant will stop production of the iPhone 11 globally.
According to an Idropnews report, Apple will stop production of the iPhone 11 after the launch of the iPhone 14 series. This means that officially the iPhone 11 will only be sold until the end of this year. Although the company has not confirmed anything about the news, there are possible reasons for this. Let’s find out why Apple might discontinue the iPhone 11 after the launch of the iPhone 14.
Why Apple might discontinue the iPhone 11?
Apple released the iPhone 11 back in 2019 and it looks like people won’t be able to get their hands on the device after the launch of the iPhone 14 series later this year. The iPhone 11 is expected to be on sale until stock runs out on e-commerce platforms like Amazon or Flipkart.
One possible reason for the iPhone 11 to be discontinued could be its direct competition with the iPhone SE 2022. The iPhone SE 2022 is the latest smartphone from Apple and is cheaper than the iPhone series number. The iPhone 11 and iPhone SE 2022, priced at Rs 49,900 and Rs 43,900 respectively, compete against each other. This could be done to increase sales of the 2022 iPhone SE. It is reported that Apple is unhappy with sales of the new generation iPhone SE and is forced to cut production by 20%.
Users may prefer the iPhone 11 to the iPhone SE 2022 due to its large display, Face ID support, and dual camera setup. The iPhone 11 has been one of the company’s best-selling phones, and an Idropnews report claims that iPhone 11 sales are above average since the 2022 iPhone SE was announced. Obviously, Apple will want to boost sales of its new products, so it could end the iPhone 11 at the end of this year.
