PUBG: Battlegrounds will be free from tomorrow: release date and rewards

Starting January 12, 2022, PUBG: Battlegrounds will be free to all players on PC and consoles. It probably didn’t come as a shock to anyone when PUBG: Battlegrounds publisher Krafton announced that the game would be free-to-play. Mainly because of the success that the contemporaries of the game have achieved in this area.

Krafton is still looking for players who may have paid to play in the past, giving them additional rewards as well as a premium option in Battlegrounds Plus. These rewards include the Highslide Slick Backpack, 2 Preset Slot Coupons, the Highslide Slick Top and more. To receive these rewards, players did not need to pay players prior to the transition. Players only need to pre-register in-game before January 11, 2022 to receive these cosmetic items and coupons.

PUBG: Battlegrounds, when will it be free?

The game will become officially free-to-play on January 12, but the exact transition time depends on the platform the player is using. Players will be able to play the free game only after the end of the maintenance period.

This essentially means that players will have to wait a bit before PUBG: Battlegrounds is free to play. The maintenance period may take a couple of hours

There will definitely be a ton of traffic to the servers this time around, so it may be a while before players can log into the game. So players may want the game to complete maintenance overnight and return the next day to play PUBG: Battlegrounds for free.

PUBG: Battlegrounds Pre-Registration Rewards

For pre-registration

Pre-registering in the game before today, January 11, will actually give players a number of in-game cosmetic rewards, such as:

• Highslide Slick Backpack
• Highslide Slick Top
• 2 pre-installed coupons for slot machines (7 days)

For inviting 3 friends for pre-registration and bonus reward

By inviting 3 friends to pre-register before January 11, players will receive additional rewards, including a bonus reward:

• Highslide Slick Helmet (Level 1)
• G-Coin iron box
• Bonus reward

This bonus reward can range from 10,000 G Coin to the luckiest of the winners, PS5 or Xbox Series X. Players will be able to receive the following items in the bonus reward:

• 10,000 G-Coins (100 winners)
• Razer Kraken V3 HyperSense (15 winners)
• Alienware x15 laptop (15 winners)
• Xbox Series X (3 winners)
• PlayStation (2 winners)

Battlegrounds Plus is a premium option that players can purchase in PUBG: Battlegrounds. The service is a basic account upgrade that all players will have after the game becomes free. The upgrade costs $12.99, but old players will get the upgrade without having to purchase it.
