Razer accused of cheating because of the Zephyr mask
Razer was accused of cheating because of the Zephyr mask. The latter is absolutely useless against Covid-19.
In early 2021, Razer introduced its Zephyr mask. It’s a mask conceived and designed to be reusable and offers a pretty successful cyperbunk design with a set of RGB lighting that Razer is committed to. The brand also initially reported having N95 filters that could potentially protect users from Covid-19.

In this case, it seems that Razer has misled the public. At least that’s what follows from a series of tweets from tech YouTuber Naomi Wu who accuse the company of cheating. As a result of the operation, the PC gaming peripherals specialist removed all references to the N95 filter from its website and various marketing materials.
It also appears that the brand has added a number of additional notices, specifically to indicate that the brand is not an N95 mask or respirator and that it is in no way “intended for medical or medical clinical use.”Naomi Wu has tested the Zephyr mask in due form and analyzed the product in detail on her YouTube channel. His conclusion was clear: the mask, despite all the marketing claims, is useless or almost useless.

Considering the fact that Razer initially hinted that the Zephyr could be a decent environmental answer to the disposable masks that people frequently throw around, we wouldn’t be surprised if users purchase this mask with the intent of using it as Covid personal protective equipment. -19.
Some of the comments on Naomi Wu’s post would force Razer to do more than just change some of the wording in their marketing materials. For some, the brand must withdraw its mask.
