Developer Legizmo is working to allow pairing of Apple Watch with unsupported firmware on devices without being hacked via TrollStore
Many jailbreakers are familiar with what it’s like to run an older version of iOS while trying to buy the latest Apple Watch. In many cases, newer Apple Watch firmware requires a newer iOS installation that cannot be jailbroken, which is why there is a jailbreak tweak called Legizmo.
We showed you Legizmo Grace and Legizmo Jupiter back in February, and while this is useful for jailbreakers, it will also be useful for potential jailbreakers – those who have not yet jailbroken, but are waiting for a lower firmware to jailbreak. Of course, you can’t use the Legizmo tweak without a jailbreak, which makes the waiting process especially difficult. At least…not yet…
Luckily, those waiting for a jailbreak will soon be able to use a custom build of Legizmo built specifically for use with the TrollStore for jailbroken devices. This means installing and using Legizmo without a jailbreak, using only the exploit used by TrollStore to pair newer Apple Watches with an older version of iOS. And best of all, it will be permanently signed, as TrollStore is constantly signing applications.
Codenamed Kincaid by developer lunotech11, Legizmo’s latest project is under development and is currently entering beta testing. Kincaid comes in two different flavors, including one for jailbroken devices and another designed to run on secure devices running TrollStore v1.0.7 or later. Legizmo Kincaid will be distributed via Patreon and the developer is still working on bugs in the payment system for those who may already have other jailbroken versions of Legizmo. More details are available in the screenshot below via the Legizmo Discord channel:
As of yesterday, alpha testers should have already received the second release candidate for Legizmo Kincaid, which means that most of the project has already been completed. Once the bugs are identified and quickly fixed, Legizmo Kincaid will be able to go out to the public to make the new Apple Watch more accessible to those who don’t update their iPhone’s firmware in hopes of a jailbreak release.
Legizmo Kincaid will join two other Legizmo projects including Legizmo Grace, which is designed to pair and use Apple Watches running watchOS 1.0-7.x on iOS 12 or later, and Legizmo Jupiter, which is designed to run watchOS 1.0. -8.5 on iOS 13 or later.
We will continue to update our readers on the upcoming release of Legizmo Kincaid, so stay tuned.
