Developers are teasing Project26, a jailbreak for iOS 15 and later that is only for checkm8-based developers.
The wait for a convenient iOS and iPadOS 15 jailbreak for the general public continues, but many of the projects currently in development give hope that something will come to fruition in the future. Of course, when we say “user-friendly”we mean something that is not just for developers…
But that’s exactly what the new announcement looks like, called Project36 by iOS developers Jan Fabel (@J4NF4) and md (@exploit3dguy). In his tweet, Fabel describes Project36 as a developer jailbreak for iOS and iPadOS 15 and later, based on the venerable checkm8 bootrom exploit.
Due to which devices can run iOS and iPadOS 15, this means that A9-A11 devices will be the only ones supported by Project36. Moreover, the developer jailbreak will support features such as SSH access, root access, MDM patching, and support for jailbreak tweaks, among others.
While there is currently no ETA or release planned for Project36, the developers have posted a demo video on YouTube to confirm its authenticity and for our viewing pleasure. We’ve gone ahead and embedded this video below so you can watch it for yourself:
Given that Project36 will be a developer-only jailbreak for iOS and iPadOS 15 and later, regular jailbreakers won’t get much out of it other than the fact that iOS developers will be able to use it to help update their iOS settings. new mobile operating system. That is, provided that it was ever released.
If you’re expecting a public jailbreak, then you’d better wait for checkra1n, Cheyote, or another public jailbreak when it’s ready, as it will be user-friendly and intended for the general public, not just developers. like Project36.
