Permission Setter allows iPhone users with TrollStore to change screen resolution
TrollStore users have another interesting app they can test starting Tuesday morning called Resolution Setter by iOS developer haoict which, as the name suggests, allows the end user to change their iPhone’s display resolution.
The Resolution Setter is supplied as a file. ipa which can be installed and signed using the TrollStore app. It can be installed on both jailbroken and non-jailbroken devices, which is especially impressive since the ability to change the resolution has traditionally been available only to hackers.
Referring to the /r/jailbreak release message, the Resolution Setter is safe to use and should not adversely affect the device. In fact, a simple reboot of the device allows you to return the original resolution.
As shown in the sample screenshot above, the app comes with several presets that match the respective devices, but users can also enter a completely custom resolution if they don’t want to use any of the presets. A big red “Set”button will appear to save your custom resolution setting.
The Setter permission supports all iPhones that can work with TrollStore, which in other words means devices running iOS 14.0-15.4.1 (and some beta versions of iOS 15.5).
If you’d like to learn more about the Resolution Setter or download it for a compatible device, you can visit the project’s GitHub page.
