Realme enters the ultra-premium segment with $800 flagship smartphone
Realme has announced that it will enter the sub-$800 smartphone segment. Company founder and CEO Sky Lee took to Twitter to confirm that the company is in the ultra-premium smartphone category. Lee did not reveal any details regarding the release schedule for the first $800+ Realme smartphone. However, as the year draws to a close, we can expect some details early next year. Lee also did not confirm the naming scheme for the ultra-premium category.
It’s official: realme to advance into high-end market with smartphones over USD800. What do you expect most from realme full flagship phone?
Realme ultra-premium smartphone
Realme is launching several GT series smartphones in different markets. The Realme GT 5G is the company’s latest flagship and is priced at Rs 510$. It also launched the GT Neo 2 earlier this year with a starting price of $430. Even though these smartphones offer excellent value for money in terms of performance, they offer an above average camera system.
Realme’s upcoming ultra-premium smartphone could focus on all the key areas that make it the perfect flagship. These should include display, camera, performance, battery, and build quality. We can expect Realme’s ultra premium flagship to come with a QHD+ resolution display and high refresh rate support. The phone could also ship with the upcoming Snapdragon 898 SoC and possibly 125W fast charging technology under the hood. Like most of Realme’s premium phones, the $800 flagship is likely to come with a 5,000mAh battery.
The GT series includes a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. Next year, a super-premium phone could offer a versatile camera module that could possibly include a larger main camera sensor and a high-resolution super-wide-angle camera and a telephoto lens. We’re just speculating as these are the main features and specs to expect from a smartphone in this price range.
Software support will also be key. As more and more companies offer longer software support, Realme must also provide up to 4 years of software updates for its flagship phone. What more do you want from a Realme premium device? Let us know in the comments below.
