Respawn withdraws its game Titanfall from sales and subscriptions
Respawn is removing Titanfall from the market. A decision that followed satiety and a lack of players.
In 2014, Respawn Entertainment launched Titanfall. It was then a unique game with a very interesting concept and really good graphics. However, the game has received quite unfavorable reviews in recent years and has to deal with hackers of all stripes on a daily basis who either cheat on the game or launch DDoS attacks to make the game completely unplayable. The studio has just made an important decision.
Respawn is pulling Titanfall off the market
Today it seems that the cup is full for the studio. In a tweet, the company announces that it will be removing the game from sales and subscription services. As such, as of today, the title is no longer available for purchase, and those who have purchased any subscription that includes the game will no longer be able to use it as of March 1, 2022.
Respawn did not elaborate on why the decision was made to pull the game out of the box, but as PCGamer explained, the number of concurrent players on Steam was 7 players at the time of this writing. In other words, the number of players is drastically reduced. In fact, it doesn’t make much sense for Respawn to support him.
Decision after satiety and absence of players
However, this does not mean the end of the franchise. According to a Respawn press release: “Rest assured, Titanfall is at the heart of Respawn’s DNA and its incredible universe will continue. Today in Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends, and in the future. This franchise is our polar star for the future experiences we will continue to create here at Respawn.”
In other words, if you really love Titanfall, start enjoying it right now. The name will quickly sink into oblivion. Will have to jump on Titanfall 2 and wait to discover future opuses.
