ResSet16 is a screen resolution changer for MacDirtyCow sensitive devices on iOS 16.0-16.1.2.
If you’ve ever looked at your iPhone or iPad’s display and thought to yourself, “Dude, I wish I could play around with resolution settings like I can on almost any desktop computer,”then you might be in luck.
Although there is no such setting natively on the iPhone or iPad, iOS developers have released a new free add-on for the MacDirtyCow exploit on iOS and iPadOS 16.0-16.1.2 devices, dubbed ResSet16, which gives users more options to resume work on their mobile devices.
Obviously, changing the resolution on your iPhone or iPad isn’t usually recommended because Apple has already changed the resolution to best match your particular device’s display. But for those who can’t resist, the ResSet16 app offers tons of options.
The concept of changing the screen resolution of iPhone and iPad is not new. It first materialized in the form of jailbreak settings, but has more recently appeared as a TrollStore-compatible app.
In the /r/jailbreak thread, some have suggested using Pro Max permissions on small Pro devices for a more aesthetic effect, however we advise that most other permissions are likely to look a bit silly, as shown:
Users should also be advised that because apps work best at certain resolutions, changing your phone’s resolution may affect the usability of those apps. Not all applications will be affected.
If you want to try out ResSet16, you can download it for free from the developer’s GitHub repository. Once downloaded, you can download the app on any MacDirtyCow compatible device and enjoy its features .
