Review of Woolnut’s thin leather cover for AirPods Pro
If you’re anything like me, you always have your AirPods Pro with you. The case rattles around in my backpack, luggage, and pockets because they travel every day. nothing except constant action. It’s crucial to me that the attachment I use to protect them preserves the Apple experience and look. This is achieved using the leather AirPods Pro case from Woolnut.
Woolnut leather AirPods Pro case (2nd gen)
Woolnut begins with superior grade, full grain Scandinavian leather like they do with all of their goods. It is wrapped over semi-rigid TPU sidewalls for the AirPods Pro case. Cutouts on the second-generation case make it possible to access the speakers, lanyard loop, and Lightning port. The notch for the Lightning port is big enough to accommodate external wires. The case supports wireless charging in addition. The status light may be seen well with just a little hole punched in it.
There is a possibility that the top will come off in your purse or pocket because of the two-piece construction. However, the fit is unbelievably tight. Furthermore, nothing can snag the case and pull it off because the exterior is entirely smooth, save for the pebbled leather surface. The top component has a sticky strip inside that makes sure the connection is tight. Since I have a black AirPods case that was specially painted for the Colorware edition, I will admit that I did not try using this sticky strip. Regarding Apple’s smooth, OEM plastic case, I would not be concerned.
Like the AirPods case, the overall experience is still very lean after installation. Even when placed in a front jeans pocket, it does not significantly increase in size or weight. Unlike some other leather cases I’ve tested that have a stitching edge all the way around, this one does not. In fact, the leather case I swapped out won’t even fit in the box for this model’s Woolnut products.
Conclusion
The leather case for AirPods Pro (2nd gen) from Woolnut is excellent. It is crucial that it safeguards your device without detracting from the Apple experience. The finishing and fit are flawless. The item coordinates with a wide range of other high-end leather accessories from the Woolnut collection and is available in Black, Green, Gray, and Cognac.
A gen 1 version for $27 is a good deal, and the gen 2 option is still a good deal at $39 for the quality of the device. Honestly, I think $39 is really at the upper end of the price range for me, but if you like the complete matchy-matchy appearance for your accessories, as I do, there is value in the compatibility with other Woolnut products. The variety of Woolnut’s options and their capacity to provide a line of full grain leather that is exactly in-tune with one another never cease to astound me.
This is how I’m now rocking my AirPods Pro gen 1 in the case. The cutouts for the speakers and lanyard are a feature of the gen 2 design. On the other hand, an AirPods Pro gen 2 case will also fit an older model, but you will not have access to the speaker ports or lanyard. Gen 1 is currently $12 cheaper when purchased.
