YouTube’s picture-in-picture mode is coming to all iOS 15 devices in the coming days.

In the coming days, PiP will appear on all devices running iOS 15. This should make life easier for many users.

YouTube is a platform known around the world and used by hundreds of millions of users around the world on a variety of devices, from web browsers to smartphones and connected TVs. Depending on the media, the use and therefore the needs are not necessarily the same. A relatively new feature is picture-in-picture (PiP).

In the coming days, PiP will appear on all devices running iOS 15.

If you don’t yet have YouTube picture-in-picture rights on your Apple-branded device, know that you will soon. Indeed, YouTube is telling users that PiP will be available “in the coming days”on all devices running iOS 15 or later. Like other apps that offer PiP on iOS, the video window stays floating on the screen while you do other things on your smartphone.

This should make life easier for many users.

The feature takes time to arrive. Last June, YouTube explained that it would first roll out PiP to Premium subscribers only, while announcing that it wanted to bring the feature to all users later. Some users found workarounds (such as using the mobile version of the site) shortly after the Cupertino company allowed PiP in iOS 14, but the feature quickly disappeared.

YouTube is pretty slow in this regard anyway. Disney+, Netflix, Twitch, and more have been offering PiP for months now. Either way, it still represents a significant upgrade. You no longer need to stay logged into the YouTube app to watch your current videos, and PiP makes it easier to use the service as a music player without having to subscribe to YouTube Music.

Are you using an iOS smartphone? If so, the Picture-in-Picture feature is still in the pipeline and will be available in a few days on all iOS 15+ devices. Hit us up on Twitter if needed.
