Rockstar Offers Update for GTA V and Next-Gen Online Console: Release Date, Features and More
Accompanied by Rockstar’s big announcement confirming the development of the next GTA game, there was also a small community update regarding the next generation of Grand Theft Auto V/Online.
Rockstar has confirmed that the next generation version of Grand Theft Auto V, dubbed “Expanded and Enhanced”, will release on March 15, 2022. As previously announced, Grand Theft Auto Online will be available as a standalone game. title.
In addition, players on next generation consoles will be able to play GTA Online for free for the first 3 months. Along with this, a small update has been released online that will allow players to play The Contract-Short Trips from the Jobs menu without completing The Contract’s story missions.
Rockstar Games Unveils Next-Gen GTA V/Online Features
While this isn’t a major in-depth study, Rockstar Games has shared preliminary information about the next-gen improvements that players will see in Grand Theft Auto 5 and Online. The Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 game will feature:
- Graphics modes up to 4K resolution
- Up to 60 fps
- Texture updates
- Draw distance improvements
- HDR Options
- Ray tracing
- Faster loading times
- 3D audio
- Expanded haptic feedback for Dualsense controllers on PS5
The game will be out in about a month, and by now we should have seen at least some sort of gameplay trailer. That said, Rockstar is playing with this a little bit to their chest, but will hopefully release something substantial before the game’s release.
PS4 and Xbox One players looking to continue their journey on the new consoles will be able to transfer both their GTAV Story Mode characters and online characters to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
