The game has different types of animals that can be tamed. Proper care of these animals brings more benefits. Animals require their own shelter and should be fed from time to time. Animals that can be petted in the game:

Chuki

Chickens in Dinkum are called chukas. These are the very first animals in the game that you can buy from Irwin for 5000 Dink. Chukam require a house to live in and a feeder for food. You need a processing license to build these two. Fencing should surround the coop to ensure the safety of the chickens. Chuks lay eggs that can be used for cooking or selling.

wombats

Womabts are cow-like creatures that can be bought if you have a Level 2 Processing License. When purchased, they are younger, as soon as they fully grow with good care and caresses, they begin to give milk. Purchase a Milk Bucket from Irwin’s Barn to collect milk from the Wombat regularly. Wombats require an animal stall for resting and a feeder for food. Food can be bought from Irwin or found at the Grain Mill.

Pips

Pleep is a sheep/platypus hybrid that requires a Level 3 processing license to purchase. They produce wool, which can be obtained by carrying scissors (can be bought from Irwin’s barn) and standing next to them. Wool produces clothes and is opened for sale in John’s shop.

Some of the animals living on the islands are not so friendly. They are a possible threat to your animals as they roam around and kill animals. You can collect and cook meat after the animals have been killed, or sell the meat after it has been processed. You can hunt down these animals using weapons such as a hammer, spear or bat. You need to get a hunting license to unlock this weapon. A trapping license is required to capture animals. You can use this to place cages on the island to capture them.
