Valorant ACS guide: what does it mean and how does it work?

Valorant is a tactical first-person shooter created by Riot Games. You win matches by defeating your enemies and completing the mission either as Spike Planter or Spike Defuser. At the end of the match, you will be shown the scoreboard of all 10 players and their statistics. One stat that is displayed and determines who is in positions 1 to 10 in this game is the ACS stat. In this guide, I will show you what you mean by ACS in Valorant.

What does ACS mean in Valorant?

ACS or more commonly known as Average Battle Score is your overall score in a match. This means that the ACS is a summary of what you have done in the Valorant game. It is calculated taking into account various factors. Here is the formula for calculating ACS in Valorant.

  • ACS = (damage + assist * 25 + kill score) / total match rounds
    • Damage is your total damage.
    • Assist – Counts your non-damaging Assists like Flashes, Smokes and other goodies.
    • Kill Score – The total kill score you get based on how many enemies are left alive.
      • Your kill score can be 150/130/110/90/70 if 5/4/3/2/1 enemies are alive.
      • You will also receive Kills*50 points for more than one kill in a round.
      • A multiplier is added for kills that occur after the first kill.

Here is how ACS is calculated. ACS is more of an individual scoring system. So if you don’t do anything in a round or die first, you won’t earn points for your ACS. In Valorant, your ACS affects your RR growth. This is why you get a lot of RR when you win with good ACS, while you get less RR with less ACS.

If you want to improve your ACS, you will have to play with your team and their utility. Combos from each other will earn you and your teammate more points for ACS. The more Assists & First Bloods you get, the more ACS you earn. Multi-kills are another important factor in determining your ACS. Try to be more active in your games than reactive.
