Samsung announces a smaller 4K version of its most curved gaming monitor yet
Samsung is announcing a new Odyssey Neo monitor, smaller than the Odyssey Neo G8 but 4K compatible.
Samsung has just announced a smaller version of its curved video game monitor in the Odyssey Neo lineup. The Neo G8 Odyssey is a 32-inch gaming monitor with the same 1000R curvature as the $2500 Neo G9 49-inch Odyssey. R here refers to radius, and compared to the 1800 R and 1500 R that are quite common in the monitor market, Samsung specializes in 1000 R bending which.. . much more curved. The 1800R screens look very flat by comparison. The G8 also offers a maximum brightness of 2000 nits and promises great picture quality with its far-flung Quantum Mini-LED.
Samsung announces new Odyssey Neo monitor
Samsung has yet to reveal a price or availability date for the Odysey Neo G8. The South Korean giant has only provided a few images and details and will need to do so until further notice. Aside from this size difference, the Odyssey Neo G8 uses design codes very similar to those of the G9, although the main difference here is that the G8 further ups the resolution from QHD+ to 4K.
Smaller but 4K compatible
Samsung explains that this is the first 4K monitor to support 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. The screen is also compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync technologies, so your games run as smoothly as possible, as long as your GPU is powerful enough to handle 4K at high refresh rates.
The South Korean giant decided to share this information shortly before the big announcement of CES 2022. Unfortunately, we will have to wait after the end of the event to find out more about this Odyssey Neo G8 monitor, such as price and availability date. To be continued!
