Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 may use an under-display camera in 2022

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 as its top foldable smartphones for the Indian market. The company’s latest foldable phones feature the latest display technologies and premium hardware. A hallmark of Samsung’s foldable smartphones this year is the under-display camera (UDC) on the foldable screen. Although 4MP UDC is not as good in terms of quality, it can be used for video calls. Rumor has it that Samsung will improve UDC performance in its next foldable device. According to a new leak, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 may have two UDC modules. Tipster Throne, citing Naver’s blog, also shared some details about the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Let’s take a look at the camera details of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and other rumored improvements.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is rumored to be updated

The official launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is just a few months away. The foldable smartphone is expected to launch in August 2022. Ahead of the official unveiling at the Galaxy Unpacked event, a Naver blog leak suggests some key improvements coming to Samsung’s premium foldable device. The report says that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 may have an improved UDC compared to the current generation model. It also says that Samsung can use this technology for both displays (main and lid).

In addition to this, Samsung is also focusing on improving the camera performance of the upcoming Fold 4. It is said to have flagship-class cameras much similar to what we can expect from the upcoming Galaxy S22 series. Other improvements include a new hinge mechanism, weight reduction and improved water and dust resistance.

The battery capacity is expected to remain the same as the Z Fold 3. This means the device could have a 4,400mAh battery under the hood.

According to the report, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is likely to get UDC technology as well. Samsung reportedly has prototypes of both, a punch-hole display and another with UDC. Depending on the progress, the company can choose either of the two front camera technologies. There are also rumors about getting improved hinges and water and dust resistance.

It is still too early to confirm these leaks, so we recommend treating them with some skepticism.
