Shield surfing instructions for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Who said shields were only used to deflect blows? In Zelda TOTK, our hero, Link, may now employ shields to surf over the overworld. You have access to this movement ability from the start. Shield surfing is enjoyable if you do it in the proper location. Using the Fusing ability, you can do several other movement maneuvers in addition to surfing. Shield Surfing Techniques in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To do shield surfing in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, press and hold the “ZL” button. Press “X” to leap and “A” to land on Shield to begin surfing after that. Surfing on a slope or moving down a hill can help you make the most of it.

But, keep in mind that while you are surfing, your Shield will sustain damage. Hence, if you are approaching a boss fight or other activity, pay attention and limit your browsing.

How to Fuse a Shield and Create a Skateboard in TOTK

In Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you can fuse several things to create a perfect skateboard out of a shield. These are a few things you can fuse to add to your shield.

  • Shield + Mining Cart
    • Your shield will get wheels if you fuse it with a mining cart from a Sky Isle. After that, you can use it as a skateboard to get around in style.
  • Shield + Zonai Device
    • You can move swiftly even on flat areas by fusing a Zonai Device with a shield.
  • Shield + Zonai Spring or Time Bomb
    • Link will bounce in the air if you combine a Zonai Spring or a Time Bomb with your shield. As soon as the Shield contacts the ground, you will be shot into the air.
