Sideloady updated to version 0.40.0 for downloading 3+ apps via MacDirtyCow, automatic app updates and more…

Just yesterday we were talking about AltStore getting support for more than three downloaded apps at once via the MacDirtyCow exploit, and today we’re seeing the same new feature from competing sideloading software Sideloady.

In an announcement first posted to /r/jailbreak on Tuesday morning, the Sideloady team revealed that version 0.40.0 of their software is not only launching with support for more than three downloaded apps via WDBRemoveThreeAppLimit (the same MacDirtyCow-based method used by AltStore).), but also a long list of additional improvements. – Automatic app updates! With the click of a button (enabled by default), Sideloady will register the app and any settings injections for automatic updates. All this is done in the background; all you have to do is download the app you have had so far. For best results, make sure Wi-Fi access is enabled for your device, otherwise automatic updates will use USB if available. – If Wi-Fi Sideload is not available, we’ve added a “Manually Update All Apps”option, which can come in handy if you’re connected via USB or if you’re planning to travel for a few days. – Mail plugin issue on macOS Ventura should now be resolved. Sideloady will ask and perform a fix if it finds a problem with the plugin. – Added improved support for iOS 16. While some of the features included in this Sideloady update are Patreon-only, most of the most requested features are for everyone. It’s worth noting that this update brings a lot of positive changes to the platform, rather than just general “bug fixes and improvements”claims, which means users will really feel like they’re getting more out of Sideloady in version 0.40.0.

For example, this update not only allows you to significantly exceed the 3 app limit on iOS 14.0-16.1.2 with the MacDirtyCow exploit, but also gives you the ability to automatically re-sign your apps via your PC and wirelessly or via USB.

While not currently part of version 0.40.0, a future update will introduce the following new features and improvements:

– Support for side loading Apple TV. – Ability to deactivate apps so you can easily switch between apps without deleting them. – Improved support for Apple IDs registered in the Apple Developer Program. – Improved “Local Anisette”support for macOS. – Improved “Remote Anisette”support. – Linux support. – Revise and improve the Sideloady user interface. – Be more responsive when addressing bugs and issues reported by the community. – Implement user ideas and suggestions.
