Can you catch and ride a dragon in Hogwarts Legacy?

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, you cannot catch and ride dragons in Hogwarts Legacy. Traveling around the world, you will meet different creatures that you can tame. However, you cannot do this with a dragon. The dragon is part of the quest and you will be able to see it in various cutscenes.

During the Poppy Sweeting quest line, you will meet the Dragon in Horntail Hall during the Fire and Vice quest. At the end of the quest, you will need to free the Dragon. After that, you will find the Dragon Egg and as part of the Poached Egg quest, you will have to go to the Dragon’s nest and return it back to its mother.

As of this writing, that’s about all you can do when it comes to encountering dragons at Hogwarts Legacy. As we mentioned, you won’t be able to catch or ride it. However, it is worth noting that it can be added with the DLC expansion at any time in the future. So we don’t completely rule it out.
