Sony releases voice commands feature for PS5 in new beta update
The PS4 and PS5 are receiving a new system software beta that includes a voice command preview for the PlayStation 5. The voice command preview will only be available in the UK and US, but it is likely that it will be available globally after how this function will be launched. out of beta testing.

Open and Closed Parties (PS5 and PS4 Beta)
- When you start a party, you can now choose to have an open or closed party:
- An open party allows your friends to see and join the party without being invited. Friends of group members can also join.

Voice Chat Reporting Update (PS5 Beta)
- If you want to report something that someone in the group has said, there are now visual cues so you can tell who was talking.
- Share Play Update (PS5 Beta)
- Launch Share Play directly from the voice chat card. You no longer need to launch Share Screen first to use Share Play.
- Voice Chat Volume (PS4 Beta)
- You can now individually control the voice chat volume for each player in a group on PS4, just like on PS5.
New PS5 UI Features
- Filter by genre
- A new option to filter your game collection by genre, allowing you to quickly find specific types of games.
- Store at home
- You can now leave your chosen games or apps on the home screen by selecting “Keep at home”using the (options) button.
- With this feature, you can keep a maximum of five games and apps on each home screen.
- Increased the number of applications on the main screen
- Up to 14 games and applications can now be displayed on the home screen.
- Trophy UI update
- Updated the visual design of the trophy maps and the trophy list. You can also see suggestions for what trophies to earn in the trophy tracker and access it from the Control Center as you play the game.
Voice commands for PS5
- This feature is currently available in English for beta testers with US and UK accounts.
- To get started, enable voice control (preview) in the Settings menu. Then shout “Hey PlayStation!”and ask your PS5 console to find a game, open an app or setting, or control playback.
