Halo Infinite developers are reportedly bringing back the ability to replay campaign missions

It was revealed two weeks ago that Microsoft will not allow Halo Infinite players to jump into any missions they have completed . Microsoft previously issued a statement to Polygon about this, a move that broke a two-year tradition of Halo games that began with Halo: Combat Evolved.

A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed to Polygon that the story missions cannot be repeated. Post-game does give you the option to continue exploring the environment, but for missions like the first two where you’re not already in the game, you can’t play from the same save file,”a rep said . However, it seems that gamers didn’t really like this sudden shift and now the game developer is trying to fix something.

Notably, Halo Infinite is published by Xbox Game Studios, the game publishing division of Microsoft, and developed by 343 Industries. According to the latest report from GamesRadar, the game’s developer is currently working on allowing players to replay Halo Infinite missions.

Players can replay missions in Halo Infinite.

Paul Crocker, Associate Creative Director at 343 Industries, in an interview with Stevivor, confirmed the decision to allow users to repeat missions and said: “We made the decision to make the game better, improve the quality of the game so that we can then add features – like in co-op,”he added. “And it’s disappointing for us as the people who made it, but it was also the best option for us to make a better game and add it later.”

The developers of Halo Infinite did not name a specific date

The ability to select levels and replay missions was part of the Halo games, and developer Halo Infinite is working on it. However, Crocker did not give any dates or timeframes during which the change would go into effect. He also confirmed that the collectibles found during the game are related to the player’s profile and not to specific game saves.

So, at this point, it’s pretty clear that the developers are listening to what gamers are asking for in the game, and while it’s not very clear how they’re going to bring replayable missions back, it’s definitely positive news. Halo Infinite is available for Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.
