Splatoon 3 is a fast-paced third-person shooter exclusive to Nintendo Switch. Like its predecessors, there are different slots that you can add to your gear. These slots offer special options for your weapons. And you can use these ability slots to give you an advantage over your opponents. But how to do that? How to add slots to Splatoon 3

You can add more slots to your gear by increasing its rarity. You can add a maximum of three ability slots to your equipment or weapons. There are several ways to increase the rarity of your equipment. All the ways to increase the rarity of your equipment are listed below:

• Buy duplicates in the store
• Equipment upgrade from Murch, the sea urchin
• SplatNet Gear Store
• salmon run
• Trading

Buy duplicates in the store

• To increase the rarity of your equipment and add more slots, you can buy duplicates of your equipment in the shop section.
• You can go to the shop section to check if they have the same weapon you are looking for.
• But the collection in the store is updated every day, so grab your duplicate equipment as soon as possible.
• Several equipment stores offer equipment with three ability slots. So you can buy them directly from the store.
• Although note that this equipment will be more expensive.

Equipment upgrade from Murch, the sea urchin

• You can improve and increase the rarity of your equipment by talking to March, the sea urchin.
• You will find it to the right of the square in front of the lobby entrance.

SplatNet Gear Store

• The SplatNet Gear Shop is an online Nintendo app that can be used to purchase gear in exchange for coins.
• Like the store section, its collection is also updated daily.
• There are several gears with three slots that you can purchase. But to buy these expensive gears, you will need a lot of coins.

salmon run

This is probably the best way to increase the number of ability slots in Splatoon 3.

• Salmon Run is a game mode that involves completing various tasks and defeating hordes of salmon enemies.
• By completing these tasks, you will get a lot of points.
• You can use these points to earn rewards such as Gear.

Trading

• You can trade with other players for three-star gear at the SplatNet Gear Shop.
• While most players won’t want to offer their three-star gear, you can negotiate a fair deal with them.
