TCL Book 14 Go with Snapdragon 7c chipset, 14.1-inch display is the company’s first laptop

TCL, which has been best known for displays and TVs so far, is foraying into laptops. Yesterday, the company announced its first laptop at CES 2022 called the TCL Book 14 Go. This device is one of the first laptops to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c chipset and will run Windows 11. It is priced at just $349, which is in the budget range. It also means that the TCL laptop could replace budget laptops from Xiaomi, HP, and others, although ARM-powered Windows laptops should only be priced in that range.

Specifications and features of TCL Book 14

While the TCL Book 14 Go seems to be quite affordable, it may have one big Achilles heel. The device has 4 GB of RAM, which can make it difficult to use the software under the load produced today. It also has 128 GB of storage, which may not work for all users either, but is sufficient for many. Especially if you rely on cloud storage the most.

In addition, the TCL Book 14 Go has a display with a resolution of 1366 x 268 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz. And that’s okay considering it’s a budget device and Snapdragon-powered laptops aren’t designed for heavy use at the moment. Of course, 4 GB of RAM will also not allow you to use more intensity.

In addition, the laptop has a built-in stereo speaker and a 720p webcam that can be used for video calls. It also has a chiclet-style keyboard that includes a number pad, and is powered by a 40Wh battery that TCL says will last the laptop for 12 hours on each charge.

The device also supports 25W fast charging and the company is also going to include a fast charger in the box. The Snapdragon chip inside also provides 4G connectivity, and the device also has a SIM tray. It will also support Bluetooth v5.1 connection, WiFi 5 and has a 3.5mm audio jack.

TCL also announced a lineup of new TVs at this year’s CES. The company says its new prototype MiniLED TVs are the thinnest in the world and feature 8K resolution.
