Tecno Phantom X will be launched this month: everything we know so far

Tecno, a smartphone maker headquartered in Shenzhen, introduced the Phantom X smartphone back in June last year. The phone is the company’s first premium smartphone with a 50MP rear camera and a 48MP selfie camera.

A new report shows the Phantom X will arrive during April 2022 (sometime later this month). Of course, the phone is late for some markets, but it could be the beginning of a new chapter for Tecno. Let’s take a look at the Tecno Phantom X, specifications, features and everything we know so far.

Better late than never? Tecno Phantom X launch could take place in April

According to a new report from PassionateGeekz, the Tecno Phantom X will be available in two color options: Summer Sunset and Starry Night Blue. The phone will reportedly go on sale later this month and will be sold with the same RAM and storage options as the global variant.

The phone can be priced at $329 for the 8GB + 256GB variant.

The Tecno Phantom X launched globally features a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio G95 SoC coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone boasts a triple camera on the back. There is a 50-megapixel main camera with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor, a 13-megapixel telephoto lens, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. Tecno has a built-in 48MP + 8MP dual selfie camera module on the front.

The phone is powered by a 4700mAh battery that can be charged at 33W fast charging speed. The company claims that the phone can charge from 0 to 70 percent in less than 30 minutes. The device has a vapor chamber cooling system attached to the chipset that keeps the phone cool down to 3-5º. The smartphone runs Android 11 out of the box.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. However, there is currently no word from the brand about the Tecno Phantom X. We expect the company to release teasers on their social media soon.
