ZTE Axon 40 Ultra specifications and design announced ahead of May 9th launch

ZTE has started teasing the key specs of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Axon 40 Ultra. The upcoming flagship will be the successor to the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra launched last year. The flagship Android smartphone is expected to hit some global markets. Ahead of the official launch, the company teased some of the phone’s key specs and features.

The Axon 30 Ultra will ship with Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line flagship Snapdragon platform. The device will also come with an improved under-screen front camera. Let’s take a look at the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra specs, features and other details known so far.

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Specifications

The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra will go on sale in China on May 9th. Ahead of the official launch, the company has unveiled some of the phone’s key specs and features. Axon 40 Ultra will be released with an under-screen front camera. It is said to be equipped with a 16-megapixel front camera sensor.

The screen is curved and has minimal bezels at the top and bottom. ZTE will launch a flagship phone with a 6.8-inch OLED display that supports 120Hz refresh rate. A 10-bit screen will support a touch sampling rate of 360Hz.

On the back of the phone is a rectangular camera module that houses a triple camera setup. The phone will have three 64-megapixel sensors. The main camera will be equipped with a Sony IMX787 sensor, as well as a 64 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor from OmniVision. There will be another 64MP telephoto sensor.

As mentioned above, there will be a top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC under the hood. The phone will also have a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging out of the box.
